Ted Lasso will return for an unexpected fourth season, it has been announced.
The Apple TV+ comedy stars Jason Sudeikis as the titular American coach who is hired to manage the fictional Premier League side AFC Richmond.
The show came to an apparent end in 2023 after three seasons as Ted opted to return to the US, having successfully turned around the side's fortunes.
The fourth season will see Ted return to England but this time as manager of a women's team - potentially, but not confirmed, the women's side at AFC Richmond.
"As we all continue to live in a world where so many factors have conditioned us to 'look before we leap,'" said Sudeikis, who also serves as executive producer. "In season four, the folks at AFC Richmond learn to LEAP BEFORE THEY LOOK, discovering that wherever they land, it's exactly where they're meant to be."
Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+, added: "Ted Lasso has been nothing short of a juggernaut, inspiring a passionate fanbase all over the world, and delivering endless joy and laughter, all while spreading kindness, compassion and unwavering belief.
"Everyone at Apple is thrilled to be continuing our collaboration with Jason and the brilliant creative minds behind this show."
The new season is expected to premiere at some point in 2026.
