The Ravens opened the scoring early in the second half when former Panthers wide receiver Smith collected Joe Flacco's deep pass and ran all the way into the endzone for the 61-yard touchdown.
Carolina rallied and Cam Newton drove his side methodically down the field along with the running ability of DeAngelo Williams, before firing a 28-yard strike to the endzone for wideout Kelvin Benjamin.
Baltimore moved back in front when Flacco engineered a drive that positioned his side in Carolina territory, and then he handed the ball off to running back Justin Forsett, who powered his way into the endzone from 11 yards.
The Ravens were rolling in the second quarter and Smith got his second touchdown of the game when Flacco lofted a deep pass to the veteran and he made the low snag in the endzone for the 21-yard score.
After the break, the home side continued to dominate on the offensive side of the ball and Flacco threw his third touchdown of the game when he delivered a 24-yard strike to Torrey Smith on a go route down the left sideline.
The Panthers tried to get a score back and came close when Benjamin just lost control of the ball as he made a catch in the endzone, and that forced Graham Gano to kick a field goal from 37 yards.
John Harbaugh's men showed no signs of slowing on offense and duly scored their fifth touchdown of the game as Flacco handed the ball off to Lorenzo Taliaferro on the goalline and he powered through a tackle for the score.
Justin Tucker scored a late field goal for the home side as they secured their third win of the season.
