The Seattle Seahawks have been given a Super Bowl boost following the news that cornerback Richard Sherman plans on playing in the league's showpiece event.
Sherman is currently expecting the birth of his son, but the NFL's official website reports that he has since texted journalist Peter King to declare his intentions to feature at the University of Phoenix Stadium.
"I am playing today," Sherman is reported to have text King.
The Seahawks are looking to become the first side to win back-to-back Bowl crowns since the New England Patriots in 2004.
