Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera has claimed that his side's 24-23 defeat to the Buffalo Bills last night was "as bad as it gets".
Three fourth-quarter field goals from Graham Gano gave the Panthers a 23-17 lead with just 98 seconds left on the clock, but rookie quarterback EJ Manuel threw a touchdown pass in the dying moments of the match to clinch a dramatic win for the Bills.
"Roller coaster. That's about as bad as it gets. You had an opportunity to win the game, an opportunity to close it out, and you didn't," Rivera told The AP.
"We had a chance to make a play and we didn't. That's the thing that's hard to swallow. We just have to make one play."
The Panthers will look to pick up their first win of the season when they face the New York Giants, who have also made a 0-2 start, on Sunday.
