Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera has revealed his excitement about his side's linebacking corps this season.
Veteran Jon Beason has returned from an injury that restricted him to just four games last season, while Defensive Rookie of the Year Luke Kuechly returns to lead the unit, along with Thomas Davis.
"I saw a great athlete running out there trying to make something happen," Rivera told reporters, when asked about Beason.
"It was really fun to watch. I know he's frustrated with himself, he ran himself out of a couple of plays trying to make them. It's good. It really is good to see.
"He's got so much ability, and couple him with Luke and [Thomas Davis] and I think those three guys are going to be very formidable."
Carolina face the Seattle Seahawks in their season opener on Sunday.
