Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith believes that the officials in his side's clash with the Arizona Cardinals were "garbage".
Smith felt that he did not get any calls from umpire Dan Ferrell when he battled Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson throughout his team's defeat.
"To be honest, I make enough money where if Roger [Goodell] wants to fine me he can," Smith told the Charlotte Observer. "But I really think that referee probably was the sorriest referee that I have ever met.
"When I dove for the first down [and] he was standing right there, he didn't even acknowledge — he received a check that day and I hope he feels good. He was terrible. He was garbage."
The Panthers are 1-3 in their season after week five.
