Brandon Marshall speaks out on gruesome injury ordeal

Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall says that being treated for broken ribs is the "worst thing" that he has ever been through.

Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall has spoken about the injury that ended his season for the first time.

Marshall suffered a pair of broken ribs during the Bears' loss to the Dallas Cowboys at the beginning of the month, ruling him out for the remainder of the campaign.

The wideout was kept in a Dallas hospital for a few days before being allowed to fly home to Chicago, such was the severity of his treatment ordeal.

Speaking to Inside the NFL, Marshall explained: "It hurt a lot.

"The bad part was when we got to the hospital and they told me they couldn't put me under anaesthetic because I'd had a Gatorade.

"So they cut me open and shoved a tube in my chest, and that was the worst thing I've ever been through. That was a pretty neat experience."

Marshall had recorded 58 catches for 660 yards and eight touchdowns before the premature end to his season.
