The Cleveland Browns have released rookie linebacker Ausar Walcott following his arrest for attempted murder on Tuesday.
Walcott, who is being held on £300,000 bail, was arrested for punching a man outside a New Jersey gentleman's club.
The player was only signed by the Browns on May 13 having undergone a successful tryout, but was released on Wednesday after being charged with the crime.
The charges he faces are first-degree attempted murder, second-degree aggravated assault and third-degree endangering an injured victim.
