Travis Frederick wants to ease pressure on Tony Romo

Dallas Cowboys center Travis Frederick admits that he wants to take on more responsibility in his second year in the NFL and ease the pressure on quarterback Tony Romo.

Dallas Cowboys center Travis Frederick has expressed his desire to help alleviate the pressure on quarterback Tony Romo in the 2014 season.

The Cowboys selected Frederick 31st overall in the 2013 Draft, and the 23-year-old had a solid rookie season as he was aided by his quarterback in his line calls to his fellow lineman.

However, Frederick has insisted that he wants to take the pressure off Romo by making the calls himself, which he knows requires more time in the film room.

"I'm going to try and do as much as I can to take as much as I can off Tony that he was doing before for the offensive line," Frederick told ESPN.

"Not necessarily because I was a rookie or this or that, but because, if I can see it better, that's going to take one thing off his plate and that's going to help the team as a whole."

Frederick played in all 16 games for the Cowboys last season.
