Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo will restructure his contract with the franchise after they officially submitted the new terms to the league.
Romo will have a $1m base salary for the second consecutive year as part of the deal, and revealed he was happy to agree to the new terms.
"I'll probably do the restructure here shortly. As far as the pay cut, I mean, I don't think that's a big deal if they ever come ask me for that," he told ESPN.
The move is designed to reduce the 34-year-old's cap figure in order to give the Cowboys more money to work with in the coming years.
It will also make sufficient funds available to secure the contract with linebacker Rolando McClain and the per-game roster bonuses for defensive end Greg Hardy as well as the team's seven Draft picks.
