Report: Rolando McClain to visit with New England Patriots

A report suggests that free agent linebacker Rolando McClain will visit with the New England Patriots this week to discuss a move to the club.

Free agent linebacker Rolando McClain is to visit with the New England Patriots, according to a report.

The 25-year-old spent the 2014 season with the Dallas Cowboys, where he excelled in the heart of the club's defense on his return to the game after initially retiring in 2013.

New England are in need of depth at the linebacker position as Dont'a Hightower is expected to be ruled out for six months following shoulder surgery, while Jerod Mayo is also recovering from a knee injury.

The two parties are due to meet to discuss a move this week, but the Cowboys are also said to be interested in re-signing the linebacker, reports ESPN.

McClain recorded 81 tackles, one sack and two interceptions last season.
