The Denver Broncos have signed former Dallas Cowboys pass-rusher DeMarcus Ware on a three-year deal, subject to a medical.
Ware was released by the Cowboys yesterday, bringing an end to his illustrious nine-year career with the team, during which time he established himself as one of the league's best defensive players.
The 31-year-old was voted to the Pro Bowl for seven consecutive seasons between 2006 and 2012 but struggled in 2013, recording a career-low six sacks having missed the first three games through injury.
At least a dozen teams are thought to have expressed an interest in signing Ware, but last year's Super Bowl runners-up have secured his signature in a reported $30m (£18.1m) deal.
He will now undergo a physical examination with the team before completing the move, although there are slight concerns over that issue as he is currently recovering from elbow surgery.
Ware is the Cowboys' all-time leader in sacks having recorded 117 during his nine-year stay in Dallas.
