Denver Broncos head coach John Fox has expressed his belief that his side's 2013 season should go down as a success, despite their defeat in the Super Bowl.
The Broncos became the most potent offence in NFL history by scoring a record 606 points during the regular season, while quarterback Peyton Manning set new league marks for passing yards and touchdown passes in a single campaign.
However, having entered the Super Bowl as slight favourites, they were swept aside by the Seattle Seahawks, who produced a stunning defensive display to nullify the Broncos' offense.
Fox acknowledged that the overwhelming feeling after the climax of their season would be one of disappointment, but insists that it was a good year for the team overall.
"I know there is disappointment. It will take a while to go away for all of us, but at the end of the day, it was a successful season: 15-4 is not real shabby," Fox told The AP.
Broncos executive and former quarterback John Elway has also expressed his pride in the team's performance over the course of this season.
