Jason Hanson has said that he feels ready to play his 22nd season in the NFL.
The 42-year-old Detroit Lions player, who is the oldest player in the league, initially said that he was not sure if he would continue his career in 2013.
However, the kicker told the Detroit Free Press: "I think just taking some time just to make sure that I am determined to come back. I know this, I don't want to fade away. I might. But as long as I feel that I'm ready to try to be the best and come back and be as good as ever, then I'm in.
"I'm not worried about the salary, really. They know that. Me coming back won't be salary-related, other than if my minimum is less than if they're just going to get a rookie."
Hanson, who has played for the Lions since 1992, finished the 2012 season with 88.9% accuracy, the third highest of his career.
