Houston Texans players stand by Gary Kubiak

Several Houston Texans say that they do not want to see head coach Gary Kubiak fired at the end of the season, despite the team's seven-game losing streak.

Several Houston Texans players have publicly declared their support for head coach Gary Kubiak, despite the team's seven-game losing streak.

The AFC South side, who finished last season as the third seed for their Conference, have not won since the second week of the 2013 season.

Tight end Garrett Graham told SportsRadio 610: "We want [Gary Kubiak] here. He's a great coach. We want him to stay here so obviously we have to win ball games to help him out and not have that happen."

Linebacker Brooks Reed added: "I think we can still turn this around and change opinions. I love Gary Kubiak and what he does as a coach and as a person. I would hate to see him go."

Meanwhile, offensive lineman Wade Smith said: "The nature of our business, if you don't perform and you're not successful, you don't win, there's a chance you will be out of the business. This business is not kind on those that don't perform well."

Kubiak, who recently suffered a mini-stroke during a game against the Indianapolis Colts, has one more season remaining on his contract with the Texans.
