Indianapolis Colts Chuck Pagano has admitted that even he was fooled by Andrew Luck's decision to run the football to score against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
On a vital third down at the 49ers' six-yard line, Luck hid the ball in his chest and ran in a touchdown himself, despite making a long play call to his teammates.
"He made a long play call and then I just heard him say 'sucker' at the end of it," Pagano laughed, speaking to IndyStar.com. "He fooled everybody. As soon as I saw him in the end zone and spiking the ball, it felt awesome. That turned out to be the game winner.
"It was a signature win for us. Across the board, in all three phases, that was a complete football game, as complete as we've played since I've been in Indianapolis."
Pagano and his side travel to the 0-3 Jacksonville Jaguars in week four.
