Report: Mike DeVito to join free-agent list after enquiries

Defensive end Mike DeVito may leave Kansas City Chiefs to avoid a pay cut, say reports.

Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Mike DeVito could join the free-agent market, according to reports.

The 30-year-old played just once last season as he tore his Achilles in week one, and it is thought that the Chiefs may ask him to take a pay cut.

NFL Media Insider reports that DeVito has had several enquiries from other teams, and he may be able to get his current £2.6m annual salary elsewhere, which would mean he wouldn't be forced into a pay cut in Kansas.

DeVito has spent two years with the Chiefs, but started his career with the New York Jets.
