Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Jonathan Martin has revealed that he felt "trapped" during last season's alleged bullying scandal within the team.
Martin left the Dolphins midway through the 2013 campaign, alleging that he had been subject to racial slurs and threatening behaviour from teammate Richie Incognito.
Neither player featured for the Dolphins again that season, and Martin was keen to stress that the incident was not a one-off and that the alleged abuse was consistent.
"I'm a grown man. I've been in locker rooms. One incident doesn't bother me. It was the persistence," Martin told NBC.
"I felt trapped, like I didn't have a way to make it right. I thought it was best to remove myself from the situation."
The NFL's report on the issue is due to be released at some point during the off-season.
