Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier says that linebacker Desmond Bishop must prove that he is fit enough to play in the 2013 season.

Leslie Frazier has said that Desmond Bishop must prove that he is healthy if he is to secure a place on the Minnesota Vikings' 53-man roster for the 2013 NFL season.

The linebacker, who missed last season with a hamstring injury, joined the NFC North side after being released by their divisional rivals the Green Bay Packers earlier in the off-season.

The team's head coach told The Star Tribune: "This is going to determine whether or not he makes our team. So much of this is about how he plays over the next two weeks. Or if he's not available because of his injury.

"I can't say it any simpler than that. It's a big two weeks for him. He needs to show us he can help our football team in order to make our team.

"This is the NFL. If a guy can't be available, he really can't help your team. As talented as he may be, you need guys who are available."

In the 2011 season, Bishop made 90 tackles, five sacks and two forced fumbles for the Packers.
