Report: New Orleans Saints' Keenan Lewis out for up to six weeks

A report suggests that New Orleans Saints cornerback Keenan Lewis could be ruled out of action for up to six weeks after undergoing hip surgery.

New Orleans Saints cornerback Keenan Lewis could miss up to six weeks with a hip injury, according to a report.

The 29-year-old joined the Saints in 2013 from the Pittsburgh Steelers and has enjoyed a solid start to his career with the club, despite his side's struggles on defense last season.

However, Sean Payton's men will have to begin the 2015 season without Lewis after the cornerback underwent surgery on his hip, ruling him out of action for at least a month, reports NFL Network.

Lewis recorded 40 tackles and two interceptions for the Saints last season.
