Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Darrelle Revis has warned New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith that he is "studying" him ahead of Sunday's match between the two sides.
Smith, who was confirmed as the Jets' starting quarterback this afternoon, has admitted that he had not studied any film of Revis ahead of the two players coming face to face.
Revis was left confused by Smith's revelation and warned the rookie that he would certainly be doing his homework on his opponents.
"I don't understand why he didn't study me because I will be on the opposite side," Revis told reporters.
"But I don't know what their game plan is or what their preparation is and personally, I don't know what Geno's preparation is. But I would hope that if you're playing against another opponent, you should study everybody on the opposing team.
"If that's the case, that's the case. I'm studying him. Just to let him know, I'm studying him. I guess we'll just leave it at that."
Revis joined the Buccaneers from the Jets this summer.
