Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel has won the 2012 Heisman Trophy.
This marks the first time that the award, given to the most outstanding player in college football, has been won by a freshman.
The 20-year-old said: "I have been dreaming about this since I was a kid, running around the backyard pretending I was Doug Flutie, throwing Hail Marys to my dad.
"I wish my whole team could be up here with me."
Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o finished second in the voting, while Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein was third.
Previous winners of the prize include Robert Griffin III, Tim Tebow and Sam Bradford.
