Jerry Rice picks Drew Brees and Robert Quinn for Pro Bowl

Jerry Rice chooses Drew Brees and Robert Quinn as his first selections for this year's Pro Bowl, while Deion Sanders opts for Jamaal Charles and JJ Watt.

Legendary NFL wide receiver Jerry Rice has chosen New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees and St Louis Rams defensive end Robert Quinn as his first picks for this year's Pro Bowl.

This season's event sees a change to the old format of NFC vs. AFC, instead giving two former players the chance to draft their own teams for the annual match.

Rice, one of the captains, won the toss against Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders and opted for Brees and Quinn with his first picks.

Sanders, meanwhile, selected Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles and Houston Texans defensive end JJ Watt in his team.

"I'm so pumped - I'm ready to run some routes," Rice told reporters after the first part of the draft.

Rice went on to add Jason Hatcher, Marcell Dareus, Kyle Williams, Jahri Evans, Ben Grubbs, Evan Mathis, Ryan Kalil and Nick Mangold to his roster.

Sanders, meanwhile, chose Ndamukong Suh, Gerald McCoy, Dontari Poe, Marshal Yanda, Logan Mankins, Kyle Long, Mike Pouncey and Alex Mack.

The remainder of the draft will take place later today ahead of the match on Sunday.
