Menelik Watson has said that he is not worried about his place in the Oakland Raiders depth charts.
The Manchester-born offensive tackle was picked by the AFC West team in the second round of last month's draft.
The 24-year-old told NFL UK: "I come in to do my job. I'm not worried about rotations, I don't worry about where I stand in the depth chart.
"The main thing is to come in and do my job and if I come in and do that and focus on that and that alone, then who knows what the outcome could be.
"Everything I've done playing soccer, playing basketball, it all kind of translates, especially on offensive line. When you're on the front line, it's pretty much hand-to-hand combat so you've got to be able to know when to throw your hands and not reach, go near the shoulder and things like that, so it definitely helped."
Watson only took up American football in 2010 after learning that he would not be tall enough to pursue a career in basketball.
