Nick Foles "honoured" to appear on 'Sports Illustrated' cover

Nick Foles says that being on the cover of the latest issue of Sports Illustrated is a "very cool thing".

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles has stated that he is "honoured" to be featuring as the cover star of the latest issue of Sports Illustrated magazine.

The cover features a picture of Foles in the snow during the win against the Detroit Lions last Sunday, behind a headline which reads, "A dreadful start, no home wins before November, another winter of discontent looming in Philly. And then Nick Foles happened."

The Eagles have won all five games since Foles was named as first-choice starter in week nine, with the 24-year-old throwing 14 touchdown passes in those matches.

He told reporters: "It's very cool. It's a great honour, but at the same time the most important for me is what's in this locker room and what's going on here.

"We've had a lot of success as a team, but we also know we have a lot of work to do. But it's a great honour for this organization, but I don't look at anything past that.

"My mum will probably hang a copy of the magazine though."

Foles is looking to finish the campaign strongly and lead his 8-5 team to the post-season.
