Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly has credited wide receiver Miles Austin for being a mentor to the club's younger players.
The NFC East side have overhauled their receiving corps over the past two seasons as DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin have left the club, and have been replaced by Jordan Matthews and Nelson Agholor.
Austin was brought in during free agency and Kelly believes that he has all the attributes to be a solid contributor as well as a mentor to his youthful colleagues.
"He's a big target," Kelly told reporters. "He's got really, really good range. Catches the ball extremely well. Intelligent.
"Kind of knows the subtleties of the exact route running, kind of exactly where to maybe place his elbow to get separation in terms of pushing off the hip and things like that.
"And he's imparted that on the younger guys, which I think has really helped us to have that true veteran route runner in there, and I think he's been really good at doing that."
Austin has recorded 348 receptions for 5,049 yards and 36 touchdowns in his nine years in the NFL.
