Ben Roethlisberger inspires Pittsburgh Steelers win

The Pittsburgh Steelers come from behind to complete a 37-27 victory over the Detroit Lions this evening.

Ben Roethlisberger threw four touchdown passes to help the Pittsburgh Steelers overcome the Detroit Lions 37-27 in the NFL.

The Steelers were the first team to grace the scoreboard, doing so midway through the open quarter when Roethlisberger's short pass was finished off by Antonio Brown for a 34-yard score.

The same duo combined again to double the lead, with Brown this time going over from 47 yards following a Roethlisberger pass.

David Akers and Shaun Suisham traded field goals at the start of the second quarter before the Lions began their comeback with a 79-yard score from Matthew Stafford to Calvin Johnson.

Suisham kicked another field goal to keep his side in the lead, but that advantage was dismantled late in the second quarter by a flurry of Lions scores.

Johnson added his second touchdown of the match, this time from a 19-yard Stafford pass, before Joique Bell gave his side the lead with a two-yard rushing score.

David Akers added another three points to the lead with a field goal in the dying seconds of the first half, but Suisham reduced the deficit back to four with a 21-yard kick of his own in the third quarter.

The Steelers regained the advantage with under five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter when Will Johnson collected Roethlisberger's one-yard pass in the end zone.

The hosts then sealed the victory with another touchdown late in the quarter, this time Jerricho Cotchery getting on the end of a 20-yard Roethlisberger pass.
