Half-Time Report: Keenan Allen strike edges San Diego Chargers ahead against Baltimore Ravens

The San Diego Chargers take a 16-13 lead into the break in their AFC clash against the Baltimore Ravens thanks to two touchdown strikes from Philip Rivers.

Philip Rivers has thrown two touchdown passes in the first half to send the San Diego Chargers into the break with a 16-13 lead over the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium.

The Ravens took the lead when Joe Flacco marched his side downfield on their first drive of the game, but his offense failed to find the endzone, resulting in a 48-yard field goal from Justin Tucker.

San Diego rallied with a strong drive as Rivers matched the performance of his opposite number, but his side were also held to a field goal as Josh Lambo kicked a 42-yard effort.

John Harbaugh's men moved deep downfield when Flacco completed a 49-yard pass to Steve Smith, but once again they were held at bay from the endzone as Tucker was forced to kick a 29-yard field goal.

The Chargers capitalised on the Ravens' struggles as they took the lead early in the second quarter when Rivers fired to the endzone for Malcom Floyd, who managed to make the touchdown grab despite being held by a defender.

However, Baltimore hit back as they converted on fourth down to put themselves inside the 10-yard line of the Chargers, where Flacco fired to Crockett Gillmore in the flat for the go-ahead touchdown.

The game turned again just before the break as Rivers notched his second strike of the match when he sent the ball to the back of the endzone for Keenan Allen to make a leaping grab for the score, but the extra point was blocked, handing the visitors a three-point lead at the break.
