The San Francisco 49ers have been handed a warning by the NFL following a sideline incident during the NFC championship game against the Seattle Seahawks last month.
Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane was involved in a collision with an unnamed team employee on a Seattle punt during the match.
Head coach of the 49ers Jim Harbaugh revealed after the game that the incident involved a non-playing member of his staff, although he refused to identify exactly who it was.
Harbaugh also said that he would be willing to give evidence if the NFL chose to review the coming together, claiming that his staff member simply stood his ground and did not intentionally hit Lane.
The league authorities did indeed look at the incident, but have deemed a warning to be sufficient rather than fining the 49ers.
Seattle went on to win the match 23-17 before thrashing the Denver Broncos 43-8 in the Super Bowl on Sunday.
