San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has vowed to give Vernon Davis as many chances as he can after the tight end inspired his side to a 32-20 win over the Arizona Cardinals in the NFL last night.
Davis, who lined up at wide receiver and tight end during the match, caught two second-quarter touchdown passes of 61 yards and 35 yards respectively on his way to career-best figures of 180 receiving yards.
Kaepernick threw for 252 yards to end a run of four matches without breaking the 200-yard barrier, but the quarterback insists that Davis was the star of the show.
"I'm going to give Vernon his chances when I can. He makes a lot of great plays," Kaepernick told The AP.
The win was the 49ers' third in a row, leaving them second in the NFC West with a 4-2 record, while the Cardinals are now joint-bottom with 3-3.
