Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Gerald McCoy has eased concerns over his contract negotiations by ruling out the possibility of missing training camp.
McCoy is entering the final year of his rookie contract and is currently in talks with the team over a deal that would keep him in Tampa Bay for the long term.
Players in similar positions to McCoy have opted to hold out until the contract wrangling is sorted, but the two-time Pro Bowler insists that he will participate in camp no matter what is happening off the field.
"When they say report to camp, Gerald McCoy will be there regardless of what happens," McCoy told reporters.
Buccaneers head coach Lovie Smith has already revealed that tieing McCoy down to a long-term deal is a "priority" for him.
