Carson Palmer has revealed that he had the chance to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this summer.
Earlier this year, the quarterback was traded from the Oakland Raiders to the Arizona Cardinals, who face the Bucs this Sunday.
The 33-year-old told reporters: "With everything that was going on I was very interested in a lot of different places and teams, and obviously was flattered. My agent had said that Tampa had been contacting him a lot.
"I would have been very excited to be there. Their organisation has a lot of good players across the board, but like I said, I'm excited and happy to be where I am. I'm excited about our future."
The Buccaneers announced yesterday that five-year veteran Josh Freeman had lost the starting role to rookie quarterback Mike Glennon.
