Jeron Johnson signs two-year deal with Washington Redskins

Defensive back Jeron Johnson pens a two-year contract with the Washington Redskins after not being re-signed by the Seattle Seahawks.

The Washington Redskins have announced that they have signed defensive back Jeron Johnson until the end of the 2016 season.

The 26-year-old has spent the past four seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, and helped Pete Carroll's men win Super Bowl XLVIII in a limited role on their defense.

Johnson was allowed to leave the Seahawks following their defeat to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLIX, and has quickly been snapped up by the Redskins on a two-year deal worth $4m (£2.7m).

The safety recorded 43 tackles and two sacks in his four seasons with the NFC West side.
