England hurdler William Sharman has said that teammate Andy Turner's disappointing exit from the Commonwealth Games will improve his own chances of a medal in Glasgow.
The defending Commonwealth champion crashed out in the first heat at Hampden Park, catching the second hurdle before stopping at the third.
Sharman was disappointed for his teammate, but acknowledged that one fewer medal contender in the field for tonight's final is good for his own chances of success.
"That's a shame for Andy, but I've just got a job to do. It doesn't matter who goes out, everyone is a competitor. If you think statistically, from a probability points perspective, yes it does [improve my medal chances]," he told Sports Mole.
The men's 110m hurdles final is scheduled to take place at 8.45pm this evening.
