Fourth for Charlie Grice in men's 1,500m
Charlie Grice is forced to settle for fourth place in the men's 1,500m race at the Commonwealth Games.

Team England runner Charlie Grice has finished fourth in the men's 1,500m race at the Commonwealth Games.

Once again Kenya had a one-two on the podium as Elijah Motonei Manangoi crossed the line in 3:34.78 for gold, closely followed by teammate Timothy Cheruiyot.

Grice was happy to sit at the back of the pack for the first half of the race but stealthily moved up from 10th to fifth come the final lap to bring himself into contention.

The 24-year-old was comfortably in fourth heading into the final 100m but appeared resigned to his fate as he was unable to catch Scotland's Jake Wightman.

Wightman was just outside the medals in the 800m race on Thursday but got his reward today, finishing third with a time of 3:35.97.
