Asafa Powell is unlikely to be part of Jamaica's 4x100m relay team after pulling up during last night's 100m final.
The injury forced him into last in the final and he has now suffered a further blow after a scan revealed that he has a tear in his muscle.
"An ultrasound showed he has a minor tear in his adductor muscle," Powell's manager Paul Doyle told Reuters.
"It is very unlikely he will be ready to go in the relay in a few days."
Powell was part of the Jamaican team that won gold in the Beijing 4x100m relay.
