Jamaica's Yohan Blake will not compete in the men's 200m at this year's World Athletics Championships in Moscow in August.
The 23-year-old, who claimed silver medals in the 100m and 200m at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, had been due to compete in the national trials this weekend in a bid to qualify for the competition in the Russian capital.
However, he has failed to shake off a hamstring injury that has troubled him for a number of weeks.
"Yohan's coach is not satisfied with the progress of his injury," said his manager Cubie Seegobin.
"We will continue to assess the situation and re-evaluate as we approach the World Championships."
Should he recover in time, Blake will able to compete in the 100m because he is the defending champion.
