Mo Farah "disappointed" with London Marathon debut

Britain's Mo Farah admits that he is "disappointed" after finishing eighth and failing to break the British record at the London Marathon.

Mo Farah has admitted that he is "disappointed" to have finished eighth on his debut at the marathon in London.

The double Olympic champion finished the course in 2:08.21, finishing just over a minute outside Steve Jones's 29-year-old British record.

The 31-year-old told BBC Sport: "I will be back. I'm not going to finish it like this. I gave it my all but I'm disappointed I didn't go out there and give what the crowd deserve.

"It was pretty tough. I'm disappointed but you try things and sometimes it doesn't work, you have to give it a go. You learn, life goes on."

World record holder Wilson Kipsang from Kenya won the race for the second time, finishing almost four minutes ahead of Farah.
