Tyson Gay has set the fastest 100m time of the year at the US World Championship trials.
The 30-year-old matched the 10th fastest time in history by running the distance in 9.75 seconds.
"It's been five years since I have been the US champion and it feels good to be back on the podium," BBC Sport quotes the 2007 world champion as saying.
"I'm not as sharp as I could be but I'm healthy so that's all that counts."
Olympic bronze medallist Justin Gatlin finished second at the trials.
Jamaica's Usain Bolt is the world record holder at the distance, having run 9.58 at the World Championship in 2009.
