World champion Dai Greene has set a personal best time in the 400m hurdles at the Diamond League meeting in Paris.

The Welshman powered home in 47.84 seconds - just 0.02 seconds short of Kris Akabusi's British record - but failed to reel in Javier Culson, who clocked the fastest time this year.

The Puerto Rican, who took silver behind Greene at the World Championships in Daegu, ran a blistering 47.78s to win the race and make himself firm favourite ahead of this summer's Olympics.

Greene is also European and Commonwealth champion over 400m hurdles.
