Triple jumper Phillips Idowu has competed for Great Britain for the first time since taking part in the London Olympics in 2012.
The 35-year-old finished fourth in his competition in the European Team Championships, helping Britain earn a fifth-placed finish overall.
He told BBC Sport: "It's always an honour to put on the red, white and blue.
"Today didn't go as well as I would have liked. I still feel I have a lot in my legs. I haven't quite really nailed it yet but I'll keep pushing on.
"I'm enjoying it here and just want to keep going. I needed a break and time to myself to freshen up. I have no plan, I am just winging it right now. It's exciting for British athletics now and I'm happy to be part of it."
Idowu, who failed to reach the Olympic final despite being favourite to win gold two years ago, announced that he was taking a break from the sport last year.
