Mo Farah has won his final run of the season in the two-mile race at the Great North City Games.
Farah won in a time of 8:40.04 having trailed Australian Collis Birmingham for most of the race.
"He dug in early on. That was tough," said Farah.
"It's been hard work since the Olympics, but this run in front of home fans was one to enjoy."
Elsewhere, Britain's Lawrence Clarke finished third in the 110m hurdles.
