Jonathan Edwards has claimed that Saturday evening could be the "greatest night" in athletics history for Great Britain.
Jessica Ennis is closing in on gold in the heptathlon inside the Olympic Stadium with Dai Greene and Mo Farah also running in the 400m hurdles and 10,000m respectively.
Greg Rutherford and Chris Tomlinson are also competing for Team GB after qualifying impressively for the long jump final.
Former Olympic triple jump champion Edwards posted on Twitter: "Tonight might prove to be the greatest night in the history of British athletics #London2012"
