Great Britain's hope for a women's long jump medal, Shara Proctor, feels that she has a chance of standing on the podium after qualifying for tomorrow's final.

Great Britain's Shara Proctor has said that she is 'hoping' to win an Olympic medal in the women's long jump.

The American-born jumper qualified for tomorrow's final with her first jump of 6.83m, 13cm clear of the automatic qualifying mark.

Speaking to BBC Sport after her jump, the 24-year-old said: "I really hope I get a medal.

"[The crowd] definitely helped me jump a 6.83. There is a 7m jump in me but right now I'm not thinking about distance, just getting a medal."

Tomorrow's final begins at around 8.05pm.
