UK Athletics chief executive Niels De Vos has claimed that he expects British triple jumper Phillips Idowu to be fit and ready for London 2012.
The 33-year-old, who has been a doubt for the Games with a suspected knee injury, delayed the process of handing his medical records to the British Olympics Association, despite being asked to send them over earlier this week.
"I'm very confident Phillips will be fit," De Vos told Sky Sports News. "He's preparing in the best way he sees and if he's ready, which I believe he will be, I think he'll do very well - it's as simple as that."
Despite stating that he is confident Idowu will compete in the Games, which officially begin tonight with the opening ceremony, De Vos refused to confirm what injury the Brit is struggling with.
