Katarina Johnson-Thompson has admitted that her confidence levels have increased following her record-breaking exploits in Birmingham yesterday afternoon.
Just a week after she claimed a new British record in the high jump, the 22-year-old recorded a distance of 6.93m in the long jump at the Sainsbury's Indoor Grand Prix, which is also a national best.
Speaking after her success, the Liverpool-born heptathlete told reporters: "I am delighted to get the British record in the long jump, after doing it in the high jump last week too.
"Things are going really well at the moment and it gives me confidence going ahead."
Next up for Johnson-Thompson will be the European Indoor Athletics Championships in Prague, which get underway on March 6.
