Michael Johnson has claimed that Justin Gatlin's "Bolt-forced" error at the end of the men's 100m final cost him a gold medal.
The US sprinter, who has served two bans for doping violations in the past, was unbeaten in 28 races heading into the final and had looked in good form going through the rounds at the World Athletics Championships.
However, Johnson is adamant that pressure from eventual winner Usain Bolt caused Gatlin to stumble.
"Justin Gatlin fell apart a little bit at the end of the race," Johnson told BBC Sport. "It was a stumble that wasn't caused by anything other than Usain Bolt.
"He got all off-balance and got ready too early for his lean. It was a Bolt-forced, un-forced error and he won't get this opportunity again."
Bolt is now one of only three athletes to win three world titles at 100m, alongside Maurice Greene and Carl Lewis.
