Mo Farah: ‘Mixed emotions over silver medal’

British athlete Mo Farah admits that he "should be happy" with silver but was hoping for better in the World Championship.

Mo Farah has admitted that he is waiting to feel “good” about his silver medal win in the 10,000m of the World Championship.

The British athlete missed out on gold after Ethopian Ibrahim Jeilan beat him to the finish line in the last 20m.

Despite coming second, the Somalia-born runner has revealed that he is disheartened at not reaching the top spot.

"It's mixed emotions," Farah said. "I have come a long way to get a silver medal on the world stage and I should be really happy with that. But as an athlete you want to win things and want to have a major medal.

"Maybe in four or five days I'll think it's good but at the moment it's just mixed.

"If you would have said to me five months ago, 'Mo you're going to train with Alberto and you're going to have a silver medal' I would have been happy with that. But it's different."

The 28-year-old is yet to decide whether he will compete in Thursday’s 5,000m race due to fatigue.
