Usain Bolt charged down the home straight to win 4x100m gold for Jamaica in the final event of the 2011 World Championships in Daegu.
The Jamaican quartet also set a new world record in a time of 37.04.
Great Britain failed to pass the baton on the final changeover and as a result missed out on a potential medal.
Medal favourites USA also failed to finish after Darvis Patton collided with Britain's Harry Aikines-Aryeetey and tripped over as he approached the final changeover.
This appeared to distract the concentration of Marlon Devonish, who was running the third-leg and he failed to reach Aikines-Aryeetey.
France took a surprise silver medal with St Kitts and Nevis taking bronze.
