Al Jefferson desperate to be ready for new season

Al Jefferson refuses to confirm that he will be fit for the start of the new season.

Al Jefferson has admitted that he will be doing his best to return from injury before the start of the season.

The Charlotte Bobcats center sprained his ankle in the pre-season loss against the Miami Heat on Friday, but he remains hopeful that he will be ready for the meeting with the Houston Rockets on October 30.

"I'm going to do my best to be back for opening night," Jefferson told reporters.

"I'm going to take it one day at a time and go through the process. I've sprained my ankle so many times, I just know how it goes."

Jefferson signed for the Bobcats in July.
